Course Map and Route
This multi-terrian race is an undulating route through the beautiful Downlands countryside in Berkshire. The race will start and finish on the playing field at: The Downs School, Compton, Newbury, West Berkshire RG20 6AD.
By car – From the M4, leave at junction 13, and head northbound on the A34. Take the exit towards East Ilsley / Compton.
Plenty of parking is available in the school car park.
By train – Nearest train stations are Didcot and Newbury (both 10 miles away, taxi ranks at each) and at Goring (6 miles away).
By bus – Bus services to Compton are limited. For information on buses from Didcot and Newbury, phone Newbury Buses on 01635 567500.
The registration desk will be in the Terrapin building next to the sport field, behind Downs School buildings. It will open on the day from 8:30 – 9:45am. Here you can collect your race numbers, timing chip and enter on the day (subject to availability).
The 10km will start at 10:00am.
Maximum number of runners = 500
Course unsuitable for wheelchairs, bicycles, prams, pushchairs or dogs
For 10km – Runners must be 16 years or over.
Race Timing and Results
The race will be chip timed by On Your Marks Events Limited. Results will be available on their website 1 hour after the race. If you provide us with your mobile phone number your result will be sent by text message to your phone after the race.
Are available in the school and sports hall. Please follow the signs or ask a marshal for directions.
Spectators are welcome to the school sports field and around the course. Noisy supporters at the finish are strongly encouraged!
An unsecured area will be provided for competitors to leave personal effects at their own risk.
Teas, coffees, soft drinks and water are available during the event.
Sports and Remedial massage and Chiropractic Therapy
Rachel will be at the Downlands Dash offering mini assessments, so if you, your friend or family member would like a mini consultation to discuss any form of injury, source of pain or would like a postural assessment then turn up on the day and Rachel will be able to see you.
Not in pain? Getting yourself checked out even when you are not in pain is a good way of checking for minor issues before they build into bigger problems.
